McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an authorized Polaris® dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We stock new Polaris side by sides and ATVs, take trades, sell genuine Polaris parts and Lock & Ride accessories, and service Polaris machines in our own shop.
Polaris is the brand most people picture when they think side by side, and around here that is close to literal. Drive through the groves and ranch land between Lake Wales, Frostproof and Bartow and you will pass more RANGERs than pickup trucks on some properties. That familiarity is useful when you are shopping, because we see how these machines hold up in real Florida conditions rather than in a brochure.
This page walks through the Polaris families we sell, who each one suits, what we do after the sale, and the questions customers ask before they sign anything. If you would rather skip to the units, the live inventory link is right below.

RANGER: the work machine
RANGER is the utility side by side family and the one we sell most of. The RANGER 570 is the practical entry point for a small property. RANGER XP 1000 steps up in power, towing and payload. Crew models add a second row so the whole crew rides together instead of taking two trips. RANGER XD 1500 sits at the heavy duty end for owners who work a machine hard every day.
There is also the RANGER XP Kinetic, an all electric version that runs quiet with far fewer service items. It is a genuinely good fit for hunting leases and properties where noise is a problem.
RZR: the sport side by side
RZR is built for riding, not chores. RZR Trail and Trail S are narrow enough for tight wooded trails. RZR XP 1000 and Turbo R bring serious suspension travel and power for open terrain and sand. RZR Pro R sits at the top for riders who want the most capable machine Polaris makes.
RZR 200 EFI covers younger riders with a speed limiter, geo-fencing options through Ride Command and a helmet-aware safety setup. Parents like it because it grows with the rider instead of being outgrown in a season.
GENERAL and XPEDITION
GENERAL is the crossover. It has a dump bed and towing capability like a RANGER, with suspension and power closer to a RZR. If you cannot decide between work and play because you honestly do both, this is usually the answer. GENERAL XP 4 adds four seats.
XPEDITION is the adventure and overland side, with cargo capacity and available enclosed cab options for people who cover long distances or ride in bad weather.
Sportsman ATVs and Slingshot
Sportsman is the ATV line. Sportsman 450 H.O. and 570 handle most property work. Sportsman 850 and XP 1000 add power for towing and rougher ground, and Sportsman Touring seats two. Scrambler leans sportier. Youth models such as the Outlaw 70 and Outlaw 110 come with adjustable speed settings and a safety tether.
Polaris Slingshot® is the three wheel roadster in the family. Ask us about availability if that is what brought you here.
Why Buy Your Polaris® From McKibben
Warranty handled properly
Buying from an authorized dealer means the unit is registered under your name from day one, recall notices reach you, and warranty claims are filed by the same shop that sold it. That matters more on a side by side than on almost anything else you buy, because these machines get used hard.
We build it the way you will use it
Very few RANGERs leave here bone stock. A roof and windshield in the Florida sun, a winch, a bumper, better tires, sometimes audio and a Ride Command display. Our parts and service teams handle those installs before delivery so the machine is finished when you pick it up.
Inventory across three stores
McKibben operates powersports stores in Lake Wales, Sebring and LaBelle, plus a boating center in Sebring. If the trim or color you want is sitting at another store, we bring it here rather than telling you it is unavailable.
Straight answers about fit
A 64 inch wide RZR is a great machine and a bad choice for 50 inch trails. A two seat RANGER is the wrong call if four people always ride. We ask how you will use it before we quote anything, because returns and regret cost everyone more than a longer conversation.
Polaris® Service and Parts in Lake Wales
Our service department handles Polaris maintenance and repair on site: oil and filter service, CVT belt and clutch work, front and rear differential fluid, brakes, bearings, suspension, tires, electrical diagnosis and warranty repairs.
Two things kill belts on Florida side by sides. The first is low speed lugging, crawling through soft sand or mud in high range instead of low. The second is water and grit in the clutch housing after a wet crossing. If you ride in either condition regularly, ask us about a belt inspection schedule and keep a spare belt and the tools in the machine. It is a cheap insurance policy.
We stock genuine Polaris parts and Lock & Ride accessories, and we can order what is not on the shelf. If you want an accessory fitted, book it with the service department so it is done once and done right.
Financing, Trades and Current Offers
You can start a credit application online before you visit, which saves an hour at the store. We work with lenders who understand powersports and side by sides specifically. Terms, rates and approval depend on your credit and are never guaranteed in advance.
Polaris runs promotional financing and rebate programs through the year, and they change on their own schedule. Rather than publish an offer here that expires next month, call us and ask what is currently live on the exact model you want. That is a two minute conversation and it is always accurate.
Trades are welcome, including other brands. Bring the title and any service records. A machine with documented maintenance appraises better, and being honest about a known issue speeds the whole process up rather than slowing it down.
Apply for FinancingHow to Pick the Right Polaris®
Start with width, not horsepower
Measure your gates, trail entrances and the gap between grove rows first. A 60 or 64 inch machine is more stable and more capable, and it is also the reason some owners end up cutting fence. If your riding is on marked 50 inch trails, a RANGER 570 or a RZR Trail solves the problem before it starts.
Count the seats honestly
Almost nobody regrets buying a Crew model. Plenty of people regret buying two seats and then making two trips every weekend. If kids, grandkids or a work crew ride with you more than occasionally, get four or six seats the first time.
Think about the Florida sun and rain
A roof is not a luxury here, it is the difference between using the machine in July and leaving it parked. Add a windshield if you ride dusty groves, and consider a full cab if you work outside year round. Budget for these at purchase rather than treating them as a later upgrade.
Match the machine to who is driving
Polaris youth models exist for a reason and they have real safety features built in, including adjustable speed limiting. Florida sets rules on where and how minors may operate off-highway vehicles, and helmets and eye protection are part of that picture. Ask us and confirm current state requirements before the first ride.
Shopping a used Polaris®
A used RANGER or RZR can be excellent value if you check the right things. Read the hour meter, not just the odometer, because hours tell you how hard the machine worked. Ask when the belt was last replaced and whether the clutch has ever been opened. Look at the A-arms and skid plate for impact damage, check for play in the wheel bearings and ball joints, and see whether the previous owner rode in salt water or deep mud. Units we take in trade are inspected before they hit the floor and we will tell you what we found.

Polaris® Questions We Get Asked
Is McKibben Powersports an authorized Polaris dealer?
Yes. McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an authorized Polaris dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We sell new Polaris units, register factory warranties, stock genuine Polaris parts and accessories, and perform Polaris service and warranty work in our own shop.
What is the difference between a Polaris RANGER and a RZR?
RANGER is the utility line, built around towing, hauling and a cargo bed for property work. RZR is the sport line, built around suspension travel and power for trail and recreational riding. If you need both, the GENERAL sits between them with a dump bed and sportier suspension.
Where is the nearest Polaris dealership to Winter Haven or Sebring?
Our Lake Wales store on US 27 South serves Winter Haven, Bartow, Haines City, Lakeland and the surrounding Polk County towns. McKibben also has stores in Sebring and LaBelle, so customers south of us have a closer option. Call 863.676.2245 and we will point you to whichever store has the unit you want.
Do you install Polaris accessories on a new machine before delivery?
Yes. Roofs, windshields, winches, bumpers, mirrors, audio and Lock & Ride storage are all things we fit before you take delivery. Tell your salesperson what you want during the deal and it can be built into the purchase rather than handled as a separate trip.
How often does a Polaris side by side need service?
Your owner manual sets the intervals by hours or miles and they vary by model. In practice, machines ridden in Florida sand, mud and heat need belt inspections, filters and fluid changes more often than the minimum schedule. Call the service department with your model, year and hour meter reading and we will tell you what is due.
