McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an authorized Suzuki dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We sell new Suzuki motorcycles and KingQuad ATVs, take trades on any brand, stock genuine Suzuki parts, and service Suzuki machines in our own shop.

Suzuki has a reputation among riders for building bikes that simply keep going. The engines are proven, the parts are sensible to buy, and many of the platforms have been refined over a long run rather than replaced every couple of years. That shows up in our service bays, where older V-Stroms, DR650s and KingQuads come in for routine work with big numbers on the clock and plenty of life left.

If you are looking for a Suzuki for sale in Polk County, this page lays out the current range, how it stacks up against the other brands we carry, and what to think about before you sign. The short version: come sit on a few, tell us how you ride, and we will point you at the right one even if it is not the most expensive one on the floor.

New & Used Suzuki for Sale in Lake Wales

What is on the floor changes week to week. Use this as a map of the families Suzuki builds for the US market, then check live inventory or call us to see what is at the Lake Wales store today.

Sport and naked bikes

The GSX-R name still carries the sport side, with the GSX-R600, GSX-R750 and GSX-R1000 family, and Hayabusa sits at the top for riders who want the big one. GSX-8R is the newer twin cylinder sport bike, and GSX250R is the small, friendly entry point.

On the naked side, SV650 remains one of the easiest bikes to recommend to a new or returning rider. GSX-8S, GSX-8T and GSX-8TT share the 800 twin, and GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000GT+ cover riders who want more power or real sport touring comfort.

V-Strom adventure bikes

V-Strom is the family Suzuki owners tend to keep the longest. V-Strom 800 and 800DE are the middleweights, with the 800DE set up for more dirt, and V-Strom 1050 and 1050DE are the long distance bikes for riders heading up to the Carolinas or out west.

Around here they make excellent commuters too. Upright seating, wind protection and luggage options suit long, straight Florida roads better than a tucked sport bike.

Dual sport and dirt bikes

DR650S is the air cooled dual sport people buy and ride for decades. The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4S+ are the newer 400 class dual sports. The DR-Z4SM is the supermoto version on street wheels.

For motocross, the RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 are the race bikes. DR-Z50 and DR-Z125L are the youth and small adult trail bikes, with the 125L sized for smaller riders who have outgrown a 50 but are not ready for a full size bike.

KingQuad ATVs

KingQuad 750AXi and 500AXi are the utility ATVs most property owners look at, with power steering versions that take a lot of effort out of a long day in soft sand. KingQuad 400ASi and 400FSi are the smaller, simpler models for lighter chores and hunting leases.

QuadSport Z50 and Z90 are Suzuki's youth ATVs. Suzuki also builds Boulevard cruisers and the Burgman 400 scooter, so ask if either is on your list.

Suzuki vs Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha

This store sells all four Japanese brands under one roof. That means we do not have a reason to talk you out of one and into another. The honest differences are smaller than the internet makes them sound, and they usually come down to fit and feel more than anything on a spec sheet.

Middleweight street bikes

SV650 and the GSX-8S sit in the same space as the Kawasaki Z650 and Z900, the Yamaha MT-07 and MT-09, and Honda's middleweights. Suzuki tends to feel a little more relaxed and a little less busy. Sit on them back to back and pay attention to reach to the bars and how your feet land at a stop, because that is what you will notice every day on US 27.

Adventure and dual sport

V-Strom competes with the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Tracer 9 and with Kawasaki's Versys and KLR650. The DR650S and KLR650 are the two old school dual sports people argue about, and both are good. The DR is lighter and simpler, the KLR carries more on the highway.

KingQuad against the other utility ATVs

KingQuad lines up against Honda FourTrax, the Kawasaki Brute Force, the Yamaha Grizzly and Kodiak, and the Polaris Sportsman. Each has a slightly different seat, handlebar height and shifting feel. If you are buying for fence line and feed work, ride two or three and let your back choose.

You can read more about the other lines on our Kawasaki dealer page, Honda dealer page, Yamaha dealer page and Polaris dealer page.

Suzuki Service and Parts in Lake Wales

Our service department handles Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs on site: first services, oil and filter changes, valve checks, chain and sprocket replacement, tires, brakes, fork seals, carburetor and fuel injection issues, electrical diagnosis and warranty repairs.

Central Florida riding is hard on a few specific parts. Heat cooks batteries, so a bike that sits for a few weeks in a July garage often will not start without a tender. Chains on bikes parked outside rust quickly in the humidity, and ATVs that cross wet pasture or ride sand need air filters cleaned far more often than the manual suggests. Bring it in before it becomes a bigger job.

We stock genuine Suzuki parts, filters and fluids and can order what is not on the shelf. Luggage, crash protection, windscreens and ATV racks can be fitted by our shop before delivery so the bike or quad is ready when you collect it.

Financing, Trades and Suzuki Offers

You can start a credit application online before you visit, which turns a long afternoon of paperwork into a short one. Approval, rate and term depend on credit and are not guaranteed in advance.

Suzuki runs its own financing and rebate programs during the year, and they change and expire. We do not list them here because they would be out of date before long. Call and ask what applies to the exact model you want and we will tell you plainly.

Trades are welcome on any make. A bike with service records, fresh tires and a clean title will always appraise better than one that has been sitting, so bring the paperwork you have. If the machine does not run, tell us up front and we will still take a look.

Choosing the Right Suzuki for How You Ride

First bike or returning rider

The SV650 and GSX250R are the two we suggest most often to people starting out or coming back after years away. Both are forgiving at low speed, which is where new riders actually struggle, in parking lots, at stop lights and in slow traffic through Winter Haven. Buy the bike you can handle confidently now. You can trade up once you have a season behind you.

Commuting and long highway days

If most of your miles are on US 27, I-4 or the Polk Parkway, wind protection and seat comfort matter more than peak horsepower. A V-Strom or GSX-S1000GT+ will be far less tiring over an hour than a sport bike. Think about luggage now, because hard cases are easier to add at the time of purchase.

Trail riding and dual sport

Polk County sand is soft, and the wrong tires make even a good dual sport feel awkward. The DR650S and DR-Z4S both work well here with the right rubber. If the bike will be ridden on the street, confirm it is street legal and plated, since dirt only models like the RM-Z and DR-Z50 cannot be registered for road use.

A first ATV or dirt bike for a young rider

Size the machine to the rider, not the age on the birthday card. Feet should reach the pegs or floorboards comfortably and hands should reach the controls without stretching. Florida restricts where riders under 16 may operate off-highway vehicles on public land and requires protective gear, so ask us and confirm current state rules before the first ride.

Buying a used Suzuki

Check the date codes on the tires, the chain and sprockets, fork seals for weeping, and whether the bike starts cleanly when cold. On a KingQuad, look at the CV boots, wheel bearings and the underside for mud packed around the frame. Ask us what we checked and what has been replaced on any pre-owned unit.

Suzuki Questions We Get Asked

Is McKibben Powersports an authorized Suzuki dealer in Lake Wales?

Yes. McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an authorized Suzuki dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We sell new Suzuki motorcycles and KingQuad ATVs, register factory warranties, stock genuine Suzuki parts, and handle Suzuki service and warranty repairs in our own shop. Call 863.676.2245 to check current stock.

Is Suzuki a good motorcycle brand?

Yes, Suzuki has a long record of durable engines and straightforward bikes that are sensible to maintain. Models like the SV650, V-Strom and DR650S have been refined over many years, and we regularly service high mileage examples still running well. As with any brand, regular maintenance is what keeps it that way.

What is a good Suzuki for a beginner rider?

The SV650 and GSX250R are the Suzuki models we most often recommend to new riders. Both are light enough to manage at low speed, have predictable power, and are comfortable in stop and go traffic. Sit on each before you decide, since seat height and reach to the bars matter more than the engine size.

Can I compare Suzuki with Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha at your store?

Yes. Our Lake Wales store sells Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha, along with Polaris, so you can sit on competing motorcycles and ATVs in one visit. Because we sell all of them, our advice is about fit and how you ride rather than pushing one brand. Stock varies, so call ahead for specific models.

Do you service Suzuki motorcycles bought from another dealer?

Yes. Our technicians work on Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs no matter where they were purchased, covering routine maintenance, tires, chains, brakes, fuel system work and electrical diagnosis. Bring your service records, and any warranty paperwork if the machine is still covered, so we can check what is due.
