McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an Icon EV golf cart dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We sell new Icon EV carts, take trades on any golf cart, fit accessories, and repair carts in our own service shop.
Icon EV's current ICON X series covers a two seat cart for golfers, four seat carts with either a rear flip seat or forward facing seats, and a lifted six seat cart for bigger families, and Icon also builds heavy duty utility and commercial carts. The X series brings features that used to be reserved for premium carts, such as a multimedia display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a backup camera, at a more accessible price.
We also sell Epic Carts, which come from the same company. So the question we hear most often at this store is not whether to buy an Icon, but whether to buy an Icon or an Epic. This page answers that honestly, walks through lifted versus standard height, seating, street legal LSV options and charging at home, and explains what to expect from our service department after the sale.
New & Used Icon EV for Sale in Lake Wales
Icon names its carts by seat count: i20X, i40X, i60LX. Here is how the range breaks down. Check live inventory or call to see which layouts and colors are on the lot this week.
ICON i20X two seat cart
The i20X is the two seat member of the X series, the cart for people who actually play golf or want a simple runabout. It is the easiest Icon to park, store and fit into a garage bay beside a car.
Like the rest of the X series it runs on a lithium battery with onboard charging, so there is no separate charger to carry around and no battery watering.
ICON i40X and i40FX four seat carts
The i40X is the four seat cart most households end up with: two seats up front and a rear seat that folds down into a flat cargo deck. The i40FX puts all four riders facing forward, which is more comfortable and more sociable for passengers.
Both share the X series feature set, including a multimedia display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a backup camera, four wheel disc brakes and turn signals.
ICON i60LX lifted six seat cart
The i60LX is the lifted six seat model, built for bigger families, grandchildren visiting for the summer, or anyone who regularly moves a group together. The extra ride height helps on grass, sand and unpaved roads.
It is a long cart. Measure garage depth, driveway space and your trailer before you commit, and try it around a tight turn on the test drive.
Heavy duty utility and commercial carts
Icon also builds heavy duty utility carts with cargo beds and commercial carts for businesses, marinas, campgrounds and larger properties that need a cart to carry tools and supplies rather than passengers.
Configurations change, so tell us what you need to carry and we will check which utility or commercial models we can order in.
Icon EV or Epic Carts: An Honest Comparison
Epic Carts is a division of ICON EV, so these are sister brands rather than rivals. We sell both, which means we have no reason to steer you one way. Here is how we explain the difference on the lot.
Choice of layout
The two ranges line up closely. Icon's X series runs i20X, i40X, i40FX and i60LX, and Epic's FX series runs E20FX, E40FX and E60FX. Icon adds a lifted six seat option and heavy duty utility and commercial carts, so if you need a work cart or extra height with six seats, Icon is more likely to have it.
Features and finish
Epic is the premium line, and the FX carts come loaded with the big screen, sound system, backup camera, lit storage and three point belts as part of the package. Icon X carts share much of that list, including the multimedia display, backup camera and disc brakes, while Epic layers on more premium details such as lit storage and a marine-grade sound system. Sit in both and decide whether the extra finish matters to you day to day.
Budget
An Icon usually gets you into a new lithium cart for less. Epic costs more because it includes more. Neither is the wrong answer. Read the Epic Carts dealer page for the Epic side of the story, then come drive one of each.
Icon EV Service and Parts in Lake Wales
Our service department repairs Icon EV carts on site. That covers brakes, tires and wheels, steering and front end parts, suspension, lighting and turn signals, chargers and charge ports, controllers, motors and battery diagnosis.
Lifted carts need a little more attention in the front end. Bigger tires put more load on tie rods, ball joints and bearings, so have those checked at least once a year, and sooner if the steering starts to wander. Carts that run on sandy roads or grass should get the underside rinsed now and then so grit does not sit in the brakes.
Parts and accessories such as seat covers, enclosures, light bars, mirrors, coolers and storage can be ordered through our parts counter and fitted by our shop, which keeps the wiring tidy and the lights working the way they should.
Financing and Cart Trade-Ins
You can apply for financing online before your visit, and we will have an answer to talk through when you arrive. Rate, term and approval depend on credit and are not guaranteed.
Trading in an older cart is common, especially lead acid carts being replaced with lithium. Battery condition drives most of the trade value, so bring anything that shows when the pack was installed. If the old cart is a registered LSV, bring the title too.

Lifted or standard height
A lifted cart rides better on grass, dirt roads and sand, and it looks the part. A standard height cart is easier to climb into, rides more smoothly on pavement and usually fits better in a garage. If an older family member will drive it every day, have them sit in both before you choose.
Rear flip seat or forward facing
A rear flip seat turns into a flat cargo deck in seconds, which is handy for coolers, beach gear and bags of mulch. Forward facing seating is more comfortable and more social for passengers, but you give up that flat deck. Think about which you will use more often.
Golf cart or LSV
In Florida a golf cart is limited to 20 mph and to roads designated by local government, generally posted 30 mph or less. An LSV can travel over 20 and up to 25 mph on roads posted 35 mph or less, but it must be titled, registered and insured with PIP and PDL, carry required equipment including lights, signals, mirrors, a windshield and seat belts, and have a VIN. Bolting lights onto a golf cart does not by itself make it an LSV, so ask us exactly how a given cart is built and titled. Confirm current rules with FLHSMV and your local government.
Charging at home
Current Icon carts use lithium batteries with onboard charging, so you simply plug the cart into a standard grounded outlet. Park it near that outlet and keep extension cords out of the picture if you can. Follow the owner's manual for charging and long-term storage.
Cart or side by side
If most of the work is hauling feed, fencing or firewood on acreage, a cart may not be the right machine. Compare a utility side by side from our Honda dealer page or Polaris dealer page before you decide.

Icon EV Questions We Get Asked
Where is an Icon EV golf cart dealer near Lake Wales?
McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales sells Icon EV golf carts at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853, convenient to Winter Haven, Haines City, Bartow and Davenport. We sell new and pre-owned carts, install accessories and repair carts in our own service shop. Call 863.676.2245 to check current layouts and colors.
Are Icon and Epic golf carts made by the same company?
Yes. Epic Carts is a division of ICON EV, so the two are sister brands. Icon offers two to six seat X series carts plus heavy duty utility models, while Epic's FX series is the premium line with more standard features. We sell both at our Lake Wales store, so you can compare them side by side.
Are Icon golf carts street legal in Florida?
Icon carts can be street legal in Florida when the cart is built and titled as a low speed vehicle, registered, insured with PIP and PDL, and driven by a licensed driver on roads posted 35 mph or less. A standard golf cart is limited to 20 mph on locally designated roads. Confirm current rules with FLHSMV and your local government.
Should I buy a lifted or non lifted golf cart?
Buy a lifted cart if you drive on grass, dirt roads or sand, and a standard height cart if you mostly drive on pavement or have riders who struggle with a high step. Lifted carts handle rough ground better, while standard carts are easier to get into, ride more smoothly on streets and usually fit garages more easily.
How do you charge an Icon EV golf cart at home?
Current Icon EV carts use lithium batteries with an onboard charger, so you plug the cart directly into a standard grounded household outlet. Park near the outlet, avoid long extension cords, and follow the owner's manual for charging and long-term storage. Ask us to check your charging setup at delivery.
